We believe it's important for consumers to make informed financial decisions. So we want to be transparent about how creditcardGenius makes money.

We maintain a growing database of 116 U.S. credit cards, and track 50+ features for each. Some financial institutions pay us a referral fee when a customer applies through creditcardGenius and their application is approved, which may influence what we write about and how products appear on the site.

However, we list cards from major national financial institution (unless they have asked us not to), even if they pay us nothing. Our rankings are independent of compensation because our math-based algorithm dictates the results of our Genius Rating.

Developed and fine-tuned over 8 years, our comparison engine started as a passion project with a simple goal: to simplify the complex and confusing reward systems so consumers can make informed decisions.

The creditcardGenius algorithm calculates an estimated dollar value for all rewards and bonuses by using a typical point value a person can realistically achieve by redeeming their rewards in a reasonably optimized way. The "Welcome Bonus" is the dollar value obtained by combining all one-time bonuses available to new cardholders within the first year. To qualify for the full bonus you may need to make purchases, meet minimum spending requirements, or complete special actions. Terms and conditions apply.
